David Comery
General Manager

David has been in the hotel industry for over 30 years managing hotels around New Zealand and also in Fiji and Africa. Nearly 20 years managing Waipuna means that he has intimate knowledge of the hotel and its' clients. David's active involvement in the Auckland Hoteliers' Association, NZ Convention Association, Mitchell Corp NZ, Auckland University of Technology's Hotel School, and a number of local community associations demonstrating Waipuna's culture of corporate citizenship.

David Forgie
Executive Assistant Manager

Dave started his career in hotels in Vancouver in 1985, where he worked in various positions in Rooms Division. He started with Waipuna in 1991 and has worked his way from Reception to Executive Assistant Manager, via 8 years as the hotel Accountant and 7 years as Rooms Division Manager.

Patricia Haddock
Finance & Administration Manager

Pat has held numerous accounting positions in the hotel & tourism industry both in New Zealand and Overseas. She graduated with an accounting degree from Waikato University and is CA qualified. She has worked for several Hotel chains including Hyatt, SPHC and Rydges. Her most recent Hotel position was as Area Financial Controller for Rydges New Zealand.

Andrew Methven
Executive Chef

Andrew Methven is a classically trained chef who finished his apprenticeship at the then Christchurch Parkroyal. After a brief stint overseas cooking in London he returned to the Banks Peninsula region in the South Island to set up a restaurant in the seaside township of Akaroa, after a couple of years he moved to the Marlborough Region to take over the lease of a winery restaurant. But by 2005 he was once again in Canterbury where he set up the critically acclaimed Mulberry.
In most recent times Andrew was the Food and Beverage Manager for Continental (The South Island’s largest catering company) responsible for such large scale event as The New Zealand Golf Open.
