St Andrews Church is a small Gothic-style kauri church near Matakana, about 45 minutes north of Auckland. It seats 100 and hosts non-denominational weddings and wedding reaffirmations, along with christenings, family reunions and funerals.
The building dates from 1896 and holds a category 2 listing with Heritage New Zealand. It began life on Matakana Valley Road, was later moved by barge along the Matakana River to a camp at Snells Beach, and was returned the same way in 2007 after a careful restoration.
It now stands in the grounds of the Matakana Country Park, which makes it a popular spot for wedding photos and occasional boutique music recitals. Parking is free and there is wheelchair accessible parking, entrance and restroom.
Rated 4.6 from 13 Google reviews, 9 of them five stars. Bookings go through the owner by phone or email.
