Views of Rangitoto turn up again and again.

Not every North Shore venue is by the beach.
The William C Daldy Preservation Society offers something different. The William C Daldy is a historic coal-fired steam tug built on the Clyde in 1935.
It is available for charters and public sailings on Auckland Harbour from September to May, and the vessel has a coffee bar, a bar, galleys and a large barbecue. BYO alcohol is available, and it is rated 4.7 from 15 reviews.
Alcohol arrangements deserve a question early. A cash bar at a venue without its own licence needs a special licence from Auckland Council, applied for at least 20 working days before the event.
Neighbouring pages cover Central Auckland, West Auckland, East Auckland, Kumeū and Hibiscus Coast, and one North Shore business also names the Hibiscus Coast as somewhere it works.
McHughs of Cheltenham sits on the foreshore of Cheltenham Beach in Devonport. Takapuna Boating Club is on Takapuna Beach, and Browns Bay Marine Centre is a beach-side venue at Browns Bay. The Officers Mess, Vaughan Park Anglican Retreat Centre, Browns Bay Marine Centre and the William C Daldy Preservation Society all offer BYO alcohol. Fairway Events Centre does not. Browns Bay Marine Centre provides no bar service, so hosts bring their own drinks. Confirm the terms with the venue before you book.
